ISEAL Launches Impacts Code in Sao Paulo – Tuesday 16 November

08 November 2010

Next week ISEAL — in association with Imaflora and Amigos da Terra — will be hosting a high level meeting in Brazil with 100 key decision-makers — from business and civil society — who are engaged in sustainable value chain implementation efforts and discussions. Worker rights’ organisations, representatives from certified operations in Brazil, researchers from universities and government institutions and standards systems practitioners have been invited to discuss the role of credible standards systems in delivering sustainability impacts.

ISEAL has put together an agenda to raise the profile of credibility as a key factor in delivering real sustainability impacts in value chains through standards systems applications.

An impressive roll call of speakers will be present: Paulo Nigro, CEO, Tetrapak, Washington; Luiz Alves Rodrigues, CEO, Ipanema Coffees; Dan Conrado, Marketing Director of Banco do Brasil; Daniela Mariuzzo, CSR Manager, Rabobank Brazil and Christianne Urioste Canavero, Sustainability Director, Walmart Brasil.

During the event ISEAL will also launch its Code of Good Practice on Assessing Impacts of Social and Environmental Standards Systems (Impacts Code). This is ISEAL’s second code and the result of a two year global process to define requirements for how the social, environmental and economic impacts of standards are to be measured.
