Overview

Having set the global standard for sustainability, the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is now witnessing huge and growing demand for its certification programme. We are the leading not-for-profit certification programme that recognises and rewards sustainable practices in our sector, working from source through to the end user and all stakeholders in between.

The MSC is now looking for the Senior Traceability Manager who will have organisational responsibility for ensuring the credibility, quality and consistency of the organisations certification programme. They will contribute to the development and credibility of the programme, including the implementation and evaluation of key policies and procedures.

Required skills

The successful candidate will have strong commercial, technical and management skills, combined with significant experience in supply chain management and tracking. The Senior Traceability Manager will be experienced in and committed to excellence in people management.

The right candidate will have gained international experience as a senior manager from:

  • the food / food service, natural resource or agricultural / agribusiness sector; or
  • supplier/supply chain management;
  • possibly from the international development field
  • another industry with incentives for illegal trading, for example due to supply chain product value pressures

Knowledge of certification schemes, standard setting and the role of eco-labelling would be desirable. You will be a highly motivated manager with gravitas and excellent strategic influencing and communication skills. An ability to provide a compelling case for action across a range of stakeholders throughout the supply chain and sustainability networks is essential, whilst being a good listener and taking decisive action.
