The ISEAL Code of Good Practice for Setting Social and Environmental Standards was first released in 2004 and underwent a revision in 2006 (version 4.0). Beginning in February, 2009 a revision process and public consultation was initiated in anticipation of releasing a new version by the end of 2009. An initial proposed revision served as the basis for a 60 day public consultation that finished at the end of April, after which comments were incorporated into a further revision (version 5.1). A complete list (excel file) of the comments received and how they were addressed is available. This document provides an overview of the major changes between current version 4.0 and draft version 5.1.
