Transport

From Amsterdam Airport / Schiphol to The Hague central station

Various intercity trains take you from Schiphol airport to the Den Haag Centraal station in less than 30 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the airport from the NS Tickets & Service desk or from the NS ticket machines. You can find more information about public transport from Schiphol here.

From Rotterdam The Hague Airport to The Hague central station

Bus number 33 towards Rotterdam/The Hague takes you from Rotterdam The Hague Airport to the Meijersplein stop (5 minutes). Here you change to the underground Metro line E towards Den Haag Centraal (30 minutes). Tickets for both the bus and the metro can be purchased at the AKO shop at the airport. International trains

Additionally, The Hague is easily accessible by train. International train journeys start and end at Den Haag Centraal or Den Haag Hollands Spoor (HS). For more information go to NS International.

Around the city by public transport:

  • The Hague has an excellent public transport service. To be able to travel by public transport in The Hague you will need an OV-chipkaart with sufficient credit on it for your journey. An OV-chipkaart for public transport can be purchased at railway station ticket machines and at a few selected stores including Albert Heijn, Bruna and Primera. You can top up your OV-chipkaart at the HTM service points at most bigger stations. Alternatively you can buy a day card for one day's unlimited travel on HTM transport at the Tourist Information Office in The Hague.   • Riding a bicycle is also a great way to get around The Hague. Almost all main streets have official cycle paths and there are numerous bicycle lock-ups. You can rent bikes at various hotels or with Du Nord Rijwielen.
