Field trip to Parque das Neblinas

The conference included a full-day field trip to Parque das Neblinas

The field trip took participants to see eucalyptus managed to supply wood for furniture, areas of restoration and discuss ecosystems services and FSC certification. Parque das Neblinas is a Private Reserve of Natural Heritage, which promotes scientific research, restoration, socio-environmental education and biodiversity protection. In operation for more than 10 years, the reserve is recognised by UNESCO's Man and Biosphere Program as an outpost of the São Paulo's Green Belt Biosphere Reserve [Posto Avançado da Reserva da Biosfera do Cinturão Verde da Cidade de São Paulo].

10:45 - Presentation: Challenges and opportunities of voluntary certification by Estevão Braga, Sustainability Manager and FSC BOD Member, Suzano Pulp and Paper
 

11:30 - Discussion and coffee

 

12:00 - Visit to the reserve: restoration area, trail and river

 

14:30 - Lunch and networking

 

16:00 - Return to São Paulo

 

19:00 - Arrival at Novotel São Paulo Jaraguá Conventions - field trip ends.
