Textile Exchange

Textile Exchange is a US-based global not-for-profit standard setting organisation operating in the agriculture and textile sectors.


Its main activities focus on Standard‐Setting, Advocacy, Education, data gathering, direct consulting, and networking. Its mission and vision are aligned with that of ISEAL:

Vision: Textile Exchange envisions a global textile industry that protects and restores the environment and enhances lives.

Mission: Textile Exchange inspires and equips people to accelerate sustainable practices in the textile value chain. We focus on minimizing the harmful impacts of the global textile industry and maximizing its positive effects.

  • Advocate product and industry integrity
  • Help bring positive innovations to scale
  • Improve organic farmers’ visibility, access to stable markets, and better develop business capabilities through education

Textile Exchange invites any interested parties to participate in the latest revision of our recycled standards. These standards are applicable to any reclaimed material, not just textiles.

Responsible Wool Standard Open for Public Review

Textile Exchange is excited to announce the release of the first draft of the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) for Public Stakeholder Review by interested parties. This is an important opportunity for the public to give input into the standard, and ensure that it meets its goals and delivers value to the wool industry.

Content Claim Standard and Organic Content Standard 2nd Stakeholder Review Opens

Textile Exchange has opened a second CCS v2 and OCS v2 Stakeholder Review Consultation throughout November 2015. The feedback from the first consultation has been reviewed and changes made accordingly.

The CCS v2 and OCS v2 Stakeholder Review period is officially open. We are asking any interested parties to take time to review the revised draft of the standard, in order to provide feedback. The revised standard is a result of the work of the International Working Group. We are very grateful for their contribution of time and expertise into making this the strongest possible standard.
