Living Wage Methodology

The six ISEAL Members working together on the topic of living wage have come up with a joint statement and methodology on living wage. This methodology was the basis of the group's participation in the European Conference on Living Wages held in November 2013 in Berlin.

Fairtrade International, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), GoodWeave, Sustainable Agriculture Network/Rainforest Alliance (SAN/RA), Social Accountability International (SAI) and UTZ Certified are coming together to promote a living wage for workers around the world. The organisations have agreed to a common definition of living wage and will use the same methodology for estimating living wage. The definition and a summary of the methodology are covered in this document.
