ISEAL publishes 2019 Annual Report

Our 2019 Annual Report recognises the importance of collaboration to drive change and improvement. This was demonstrated through our members work in partnership across projects from living wage and living income, to leveraging data and technological innovation.

With only ten years left to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals, it’s essential that we work together to address such complex global challenges. The report’s infographic highlights the increased focus on improvement and member collaborations to scale up impacts during the year. Supported by ISEAL’s Innovations Fund, 29 projects have helped members contribute to sector transformation, helping to ensure benefits accrue to smallholders and SMEs.

A key moment in 2019 was the launch of Evidensia.org with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Rainforest Alliance. Evidensia hosts evidence and information on the effectiveness and impacts of sustainability and supply chain tools and approaches. With its growing body of research, we can deepen our understanding of where standards work best and where other tools are needed.

During 2019, ISEAL continued to facilitate discussions around living wage, living income and gender, helping our members to delve more deeply into these issues. We also went on to convene stakeholders on the issue of credibility at the India Sustainability Standards Conference. And, in China, we brought members together to deepen their understanding of the policy environment.
