Help shape more effective solutions to sustainability challenges by joining the consultation on the second draft of our Code of Good Practice.
Our Codes of Good Practice provide a globally recognised framework, defining practices for effective and credible sustainability systems in the areas of Impacts, Standard-Setting and Assurance. Strengthening these practices is critical if sustainability standards and similar systems are to offer scalable and effective solutions to the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges, from rising inequality to human rights violations and climate change.
We are now updating and integrating our Codes into a single Code of Good Practice. The integrated Code aims to take a more holistic approach to how sustainability systems operate, and provide a global reference on how sustainability systems can put the ISEAL Credibility Principles into practice.
From September to December 2022, we held a consultation on the first draft of the Code. We heard that the Codes could be integrated more efficiently, aspects could be simplified and made less prescriptive, and further clarity would be useful in some parts. This feedback has now been incorporated into the second draft of the Code that we have published for consultation.
In whatever way that sustainability systems are relevant to your work, we’d love to hear your views. There are multiple ways to participate:
- Complete the survey
- Provide comments against individual clauses in the spreadsheet version of the draft
- Invite your colleagues and stakeholders to participate that will be affected by changes made in the Code
Stay up to date with these activities on our consultation page.
The consultation runs from 31 May to 30 July 2023. Please provide your feedback to ensure the Code is relevant in your context and accurately reflects credible practice.
